I first came to Core Process psychotherapy in my late twenties. I’d been a support worker and coach for a few years, and was longing to work with people at greater depth. This initially took me to a year-long course in arts psychotherapy, which really lit me up. But it soon became clear that continuing with a psychotherapy course that didn’t include the transpersonal, didn’t fully make sense to me. So it felt exciting to stumble across the Karuna training, which I began in 2016.
I’ve continued working with groups – initially supporting young people, people exiting prison, then women impacted by the street sex trade; and in more recent years offering training and consultancy, alongisde my private practice, around themes such as polyvagal theory and reflective practice.
Alongside my work, I love to draw, paint, dance, write, and spend time outdoors. I’m really interested in the place of creative expression, play, and the natural world within therapy; as well as the relationship between ‘personal’ healing, and healing at a more collective, systemic level; and different practices of collective healing. I’m endlessly curious about themes such as the nervous system, intergenerational trauma, shamamic perspectives, embodiment, subtle energetics, quantum physics, and the nature of consciousness.
